Jubilee Project's Business Incubator

Art & Craft Incubator Program

Skilled craftsmanship is part of the heritage of Hancock County, Tennessee.   There are 15 art or craft businesses represented in the Jubilee Business Incubator.   The Clinch Appalachian Artisans' Cooperative's retail outlet is housed in Jubilee Center, and sells hand-made crafts of almost every type, including woodcrafts, beadwork, brooms, totes, bird houses, goat milk soap, herbal products, artwork and illustrated cook books.  All items are made locally.  To learn more about the Artisans Cooperative, visit www.clinchartists.com

In addition to providing rental space at affordable rates, Jubilee Business Incubator provides access to fax, copier, computer, desktop publishing and Internet, business and computer counseling, and assistance in locating markets for art and craft projects.

Food Farm Incubation Program
Agriculture is the oldest economic base for rural Hancock county; but farming as we know it -- particularly tobacco and beef cattle -- faces increasing economic  pressures.  The development of businesses which add value to local farm products, through processing or by other means, is a key to helping the small farmer continue to make a living in rural Appalachia.
To that end, Jubilee Project developed Clinch Powell Community Kitchens.  The Kitchens contain state of the art equipment for preparing, cooking, filling, labeling, flash-freezing and cooling.  The Kitchen's full-time, onsite staff provide assistance with the development of recipes and production processes for the most delicious and cost effective food production.  Learn more about this incubation project at www.clinchkitchens.org.
Appalachian Spring Cooperative, a group of farmer/grower/entrepreneurs creating and marketing their own value-added food products often use Clinch Powell Community Kitchens' processing facilities.  For more information on Appalachian Spring Cooperative, visit their website at www.apspringcoop.com
